I know a few of you guys have been working on a DIY remote control. I've been doing the same. It's a propeller based xbee remote. Unlike the others, I'm not cool enough to put a fancy screen on it. Didn't want the extra complexity at the moment. The cool thing about the prop though is that it has video generation circuitry built in that can output NTSC or PAL. Maybe at some point in the future I'll add a screen for telemetry.

So here's the controller face, I still need to make the PCB for it. Instead of getting a PCB printed like I did for my bot's control board I'm going to try my hand at isolation milling. I'm learning Eagle at the moment to try to produce the g-code.

I've only got a few more parts to cast for the body so hopefully I'll be assembling the robot by saturday.

Do you have a project you plan to use it with?

Thanks, guys.

And, Coleman, I appreciated the interest. I know what I've shown so far is purely mechanical. I hope to be able to show programming chops in the next couple months. I'm new to the propeller but I hope I can transfer my programming knowledge to a new format.

Your remote looks nice. As you probably noticed in the other threads, I go around in circles. As I mentioned recently I am leaning toward a simpler to build version as well...

Will be fun to see your programing chops! It has been awhile since I did anything with the propeller. The Spin language took a bit to get used to, but I did convert the Phoenix code to run with it... Also I have seen recently that they have a beta GCC compiler now. Have not tried it yet, but that would make it easier (at least for me).

Looks like a fun project.

Thanks Kurt. It's comforting to know that if I fall on my face programming this thing that I can always fall back on the pheonix code you ported to SPIN.

I've got the IK and most of the math and gait algorithms worked out, it's just a matter of putting them into code in a structure that runs well.

Just needs a little fine sanding in some places and it'll be good. I'll try to get the legs mounted Saturday, then do a ton of cable management.
