Welcome to the forum.

Which arm?

Which guide?

Atom or Atom Pro?

I'd like to help, please use more words. ;)

I see that I am supposed to power the bot board with a 9v but when I connect the bot board to the ssc board it lights up without any power applied to the board itself and when I attached the wiring the lights get extremely bright and I don't want to blow the board or anything..

Post images of your wiring.

"it lights up" define it.

Extremely bright LED's does not sound good. It's possible the board/boards may have been damaged.

This is the wiring, and if the board is shot is there a way to trade it for another?

I think some things have been changed since the bright LED symptoms eh?

Lets start troubleshooting...

Disconnect everything. Apply the 9vdc battery to the VL terminals on the SSC-32 and verify the 5vdc regulator is providing the proper voltage. Verify the green LED lights up. Now do the same thing for the BotBoard II. What do you get?

yes all that i did before was plug the 9v into the bot board and attempted to turn it on and it all just turned off but the ssc is still fine. I attached the bot board to the power and attempted to turn it on but no luck. I believe its fried.

If it were me, I would connect the 9V battery to VL and then with your volt meter check to see the voltage coming out. You can simply check at one of the +5V voltage shorting bars, as shown as #13 in the diagram of the BB2 in the document: http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/data/abbpdf02.pdf

It should be +5V... If that fails, I would make sure all of the other jumpers are removed and see if that helps. If not :(

Ok I figured out the problem and it all reads out. Now I have a question on programming the atom pro. I loaded the program and evverything onto basic micro studio but when I follow the tutorial it says it found the bot board on com1 but when i press connect at the bottom it won't allow me to program it. Have been searching for help but no luck, Thanks again!

Nevermind found the answer to my problem, now the only thing that isn't working is that the ps2 wireless receiver that plugs into the bot board isnt lighting up, could it be a lack of power to the board?
